OneLondon projects to headline National Shared Care Record Summit

The London Care Record, Universal Care Plan and other key OneLondon programmes will be showcased at the second Shared Care Record National Summit taking place in April in Birmingham (25 January 2024).

With the backing of NHS England’s Connecting Care Records Programme, and following the success of the inaugural event in 2023, this year’s Summit will take place at the ICC in Birmingham on 16 and 17 April and showcase national, regional and local progress on shared care record solutions.

Integrated Care System colleagues are invited to attend the event and hear about positive impacts of shared care records, from both staff and patients’ perspectives. There will also be senior NHS England colleagues updating on the national picture and future of Connecting Care Records as well as support from technology partners some of whom are sponsoring the event.

OneLondon will be centre stage in a number of the sessions where the team will set out some of our key achievements and the lessons we have learned. This includes:

  • Our recent independent economic study of the London Care Record that showed it has saved health and care professionals’ time up to a value of £44.4 million, helping them provide safe and effective care more quickly.
  • Work to connect more of the Capital’s care homes to the London Care Record following a successful pilot programme that demonstrated how this helped staff provide care home residents with more effective care as well as saving them time.
  • The Universal Care Plan, and how our care planning capabilities align with the London Care Record, plus news on Integration of the Universal Care Plan with the NHS App enabling patients to view their personalised care plan.
  • How our South East London partners have evolved and grown the London Care Record for their frontline health and care staff.

Jocelyn Palmer, OneLondon Programme Director at NHS London, said:

“Last year’s inaugural Summit in Leeds was a really great event and an amazing opportunity to learn from colleagues working on Connecting Care Record programmes across the country. I am delighted that this year’s event will see OneLondon centre stage with so much of our work and successes being showcased alongside other regional and local innovative projects. It is set to be another inspiring and productive event so please do register for a place and join the OneLondon team in Birmingham in April.”
